QA Team Lead

We are looking for a QA Team Leader who will play a key role in ensuring high standards of software quality while leading, mentoring, and developing a team of QA professionals. This role combines people and technical leadership, hands-on QA work, and active participation in projects and presales activities.  

A strong focus of this role is leading the QA team in the adoption of AI-driven testing approaches, including shaping how AI agents are used in testing as part of modern QA workflows.

Our QA team is distributed across Zagreb, Osijek, and Varaždin, and this role is ideally based in Zagreb.



What you'll do: 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of QA engineers, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional growth 
  • Lead and continuously improve QA standards, methodologies, processes, and tools across projects, ensuring consistent and high-quality delivery
  • Lead the adoption of AI-driven QA practices by defining direction, setting guidelines, and actively shaping how AI is used across the QA team 
  • Drive experimentation and implementation of AI agents as testing assistants, supporting test design, coverage analysis, exploratory testing, and other testing aspects 
  • Actively contribute as a hands-on QA engineer on projects, defining testing approaches, participating in testing activities, and supporting teams with complex QA challenges 
  • Coordinate QA activities across multiple projects, including capacity planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and progress tracking to ensure timely delivery 
  • Define and oversee testing strategies for custom software solutions (web, data, AI, mobile)
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of QA documentation, including test cases, acceptance documentation, and user documentation
  • Contribute to presales activities by coordinating QA presales efforts, defining QA scope, shaping offers, and providing effort estimations 
  • Collaborate closely with other teams within the business unit and across the organization, while fostering a strong QA team culture through knowledge sharing and continuous skill development

What we expect: 

  • At least 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a minimum of 2 years in leading or coordinating people
  • Strong interest in AI-driven QA, with the ability to guide a team in adopting AI tools and developing AI agents to enhance testing efficiency and insights 
  • Strong experience in testing custom web software solutions, with additional experience in data or AI-oriented projects as a plus 
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, the SDLC, and QA’s role within cross-functional teams 
  • Solid understanding of REST API concepts and hands-on experience using tools such as Postman 
  • Solid understanding of databases and the ability to write SQL queries; experience with BI systems (e.g. Power BI) is a plus
  • Experience with any ALM tool (Azure DevOps, Jira)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a critical and analytical mindset 
  • Ability to balance people leadership responsibilities with hands-on QA work 
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
  • University degree in a technical field is preferred, but strong hands-on experience can compensate
